Michelle Kemp

Head of School

Michelle is the passionate head of school who truly believes in the Montessori approach, so much so that she has dedicated her life to bringing the method to more children and adults in South Africa. Michelle started Montessori Country Kids as a preschool, when she was just 18 and has since qualified and opened the Elementary class where she continues to share her love of learning with young children. Michelle is a published author and loves to use story telling in the classroom.

Philippa Kemp

Lead Teacher

Philippa is the caring lead teacher in the preschool. Philippa loves animals and spends her afternoons looking after a variety of creatures, which she often brings into the classroom. She is working on a qualification in personal training and enjoys helping the children to be active. Philippa was just 16 years old when she joined MCK and she fell in love with the work of nurturing the spirits of young children.

Bettie

Teacher Bettie is the calm and steady influence in the Elementary class. Bettie started as an assistant over ten years ago and then qualified as a teacher. Bettie loves to guide the children to choose work and uses a calm approach to help them find their way, especially during exciting and loud science experiments. Bettie is quiet but enthusiastic and she loves to help the children master ‘tricky’ work. Bettie is always eager to learn and loves to help the children discover things about the world.

Debora

Assistant

Debora is the fun-loving assistant in the preschool. Debora always has a big smile and loves to encourage others to laugh. Debora is qualified as a seamstress and loves to share her knowledge of sewing skills with the children. Debora is very active and enjoys dancing and playing games with the children. She enjoys greeting people in the mornings and always has a friendly word for each child as they arrive.  

Nichole

Elementary Teacher

Nichole is the excited new addition to our Elementary teaching team. She is a qualified Montessori teacher who started her career studying psychology but decided to follow her heart and found her passion in education. Nichole is enthusiastic and ambitious. She is a soft-hearted and nurturing person who loves animals and enjoys being a friend to everyone she meets.

Monnica

Assistant

Monnica is the nurturing assistant in the preschool. Monnica is always eager to help and loves to ensure everything is perfectly clean and neat. Monnica is very active in her church and loves to sing as she works. Monnica enjoys singing with the children, especially teaching them traditional songs. Monnicca has worked at MCK for many years and always gives her best; she has a big heart and cares deeply about each child.
